Forest School Leader Training
SGO’s Level 3 Forest School Leader Training is the national standard required to lead Forest School sessions independently.
The heart of any Forest School experience is the site. Steve Greaves Outdoors partners with educators to offer a training experience based on first hand knowledge of on site practices and the theoretical underpinning of these for the learners taking part in a Forest School programme.
The Sites
The Bosk
The Bosk site is located in a rural area on the outskirts of Derby city with good public transport links and offers a unique training experience with a cpd element as part of the course.

96 guided learning hours
Assessed by a portfolio of evidence.
Mentor support.
Successful completion will result an ITC level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders.

Sunny Brow
This Manchester based nursery site offers a compact version of the SGO forest school leader course with the in person initial training split across two weeks.

Dore, Sheffield
This is a wonderful opportunity to begin your Forest School Leadership training at our new Sheffield venue. Following on from our very successful pilot course in 2025 we now regularly deliver our world class training at this amazing setting. Dore primary school has an active Forest School programme, and our training is delivered alongside the amazing work that goes on at the school.
